Review of Peking University Archaeological Postgraduate Entrance Examination
I'm afraid I'll forget it after a long time, so I'll write it out quickly, hoping to help those who are interested in archaeology at Peking University. Only for archaeology majors.
1, preparation time: not too long, easy to mental fatigue. My time is 70 days, but in the end I feel very tired. It's time for the students' final exam. I often see a banner hanging at the entrance of the teaching building that says "Heaven rewards diligence, prudence as always", constantly encouraging myself, and finally persisting cautiously as always.
2. Review materials:
Most important: Archaeological Notes of Peking University (paragraphs of China Archaeology, Introduction to Archaeology) should be a must. Take notes as the main line of review and read them at least three times. Notes are often short, so you should find other books or papers to understand the cause and effect.
Reference books are divided into two levels:
First, it's very important. I suggest you have a look:
Paleolithic Archaeology (Wang Youping), Neolithic Archaeology (Zhang, Wei Jun), Xia and Shang Archaeology, Guo Zhouer Archaeology, Zhao Huacheng Gao Chongwen Qin and Han Archaeology, Qi Dongfang Sui and Tang Archaeology, Song and Yuan Archaeology.
Encyclopedia of archaeological volumes is also very important, especially comprehensive entries. Now that there is a new version, it should be easy to buy. I spent a lot of time looking for this book. As for the archaeological discovery and research in New China (I don't know if the title is like this), although it is good, it was published in the 1980s, and it needs a lot of information after reading it, so it was abandoned. But this is a very basic thing. If you have enough time, you'd better look for it.
Another reference book is not necessary, but it is also helpful. I'll make a list and try to find it if I have time and conditions: (I took the exam before, so I pay more attention to prehistoric content. )
Archaeology Facing 2 1 century, by Yan Wenming, Sanqin Publishing House, 1997. This book can only be bought as a second-hand book. Very important. Mainly an introduction.
What is archaeology? Yu, very good.
Chen Chun, the theory of archaeology, is worth reading and can refresh your thinking.
Archaeological Theory, Method and Technology, an introductory reference book, is worth reading.
Archaeological Reader, Peking University Press, is very good, and has collected some important papers.
Wang Youping, stone tool research, understand the related issues of paleolithic production and paleolithic culture. If you take the paleolithic exam, you must look at it.
An Introduction to Prehistoric Archaeology in China written by Zhang Hongyan has the function of integration, and some contents are very good.
Xu's Legendary Times of China Ancient History is a classic. I am personally interested in this aspect.
Archaeology of Xia, Shang and Zhou written by Zhang Zhiheng and Zhou Yuxing is also a necessary reference for profile archaeology.
Su's New Theory on the Origin of Chinese Civilization is worth reading, and it is a must-read for studying the origin of civilization in the future.
Li Xueqin, Ten Lectures on Ancient Civilization, Important.
Dong Xinlin, Archaeological Research on Ancient Mausoleums in China, Fujian People's Publishing House, 2005. I read a book about the discovery and research summary of ancient tombs in the library. I spent two days reading through it in the final stage and found it very valuable.
Daniel, we all know that 150 years of archaeology is beneficial to reading.
A Study on the Prehistoric Archaeological History of China (1895—— 1949) Chen Xingcan
The History of Ancient Architecture in China edited by Liu Dunzhen is more important. It is of great significance to grasp the clues of the development of ancient buildings as a whole.
Tang, editor-in-chief of Environmental Archaeology, and Feng Enxue, editor-in-chief of Field Archaeology, see if there is anything they need to know.
Lun Furu and Barnes' DaTou (Theory, Method and Practice of Archaeology) and Zhang Guangzhi's Six Lectures on Archaeology are both very good. If you have time, you'd better find them. Unfortunately, I didn't buy it because of time. I'll make it up later.
Yang Kuan's book about the ancient city is also very important. However, I don't quite accept that discussion, and I don't want to make time to read it. I probably just looked through it.
Yangshao culture, Longshan culture, Qujialing culture, Hongshan Culture culture, Liangzhu culture, prehistoric archaeology in Gan Qing, agricultural archaeology, Qin culture and Chu culture are all important books for the exam, and I have read them, but some of them are not well written. The series also has sub-topics, but I didn't buy it because of time. You can get it yourself if you are interested.
In addition, there are some books that many people may not get, not to mention, such as essays written or edited by Su and Zou Heng.
Others may be more important, but I have forgotten. I'll add it when I remember.
The more important aspects of this document are:
Wang Youping,,, Li, Xu Tianjin, Liu Xu, Wang Xun, Lei Xingshan, Zhao Huacheng, Qi Dongfang, etc. It is very important to read all the papers of Mr. Peking University that can be found. Look at this forum, there are some;
Others look for what they need to know.
Ten archaeological discoveries over the years should be understood.
Finally, you should know the exam questions of the past years. This is also very important. I will open another post, including some reference answers made by others. After careful observation, you will find that the examination questions (big questions) mainly focus on several aspects (special topics), such as the origin of civilization, the origin of rice, cities, tombs and so on. (08 big questions also include early pottery, which is also a common exam in early years), so you know that you can review not only by time, but also by topic. As for the explanation of small questions, it depends on your knowledge to get good grades.
To tell the truth, there are still many things to see. In the final analysis, I still rely on my unremitting efforts. Be sure to remember that "it is unique to be cautious to the end." God can see your efforts.
I remember someone said that a good exam requires three elements, one is a solid foundation, the other is luck, and the third is good handwriting. If you have a solid foundation, you don't need luck. After all, luck is unpredictable. But how can a solid foundation be called? There is no bottom line, there are too many things. So you still need luck. Usually, we should pay attention to doing more good deeds, respecting the gods and parents, and naturally there will be good luck. Don't trust me.
I would also like to add that more participation in the Boya Forum and more speeches will definitely be fruitful.
