Characteristics of jazz
1. In terms of major scales, the third (Mi) and seventh (Si) tones are usually lowered, and sometimes the fifth (Sol) tone is lowered by a semitone, supplemented by sliding and vibrato, thus enhancing the melancholy and sad color of the song. This is the blues scale.

2. Most melodies use syncopated rhythm and triplet, resulting in the inversion of light and heavy sounds. The rhythm is mostly double beat, usually 4/4 beat and 2/4 beat.

3. Chords generally use the main chord (Ⅰ), the subordinate chord (ⅴ) and the subordinate chord (ⅴ), so harmony sounds harmonious and simple.

4. Lyrics and tunes are mostly composed of two lines that rhyme symmetrically. Repeat the first sentence. Each piece has 12 bars, and each sentence has 4 bars, thus forming a stable musical structure: ‖: A: ‖+B.

5. Singing uses meaningless words to form a unique jazz singing style under improvisational rules. The rhythm of segmentation is complex and diverse, especially the continuous segmentation across sections, which often makes the whole section of the original rhythm deviate and produces an erratic sense of wandering. Sometimes, on the basis of the blues scale, variations such as # 4 are added to make it more colorful.

6. Jazz harmony is based on seven chords, and a large number of sustained tones (such as 9 tones, 1 1 tone, 13 tone) and alternative chords are used, and sometimes there are pure fifth-degree subordinate chords that fall continuously, so that it presents rich and colorful harmony effects.
