With the development of society and the needs of nursing specialty, the number of male nursing students enrolled in our school has increased year by year. However, influenced by traditional concepts, social prejudices and professional characteristics, most male nursing students find it difficult to learn obstetrics and gynecology nursing. How to make students, especially boys, learn obstetrics and gynecology nursing well and improve teaching quality is a problem worthy of our in-depth discussion. As a clinical teacher of nursing specialty, this paper discusses some problems existing in male nursing students' study of obstetrics and gynecology nursing and corresponding countermeasures. 1 Problems existing in male nursing students' learning obstetrics and gynecology nursing 1. 1 Influenced by traditional ideas and social prejudices, men are regarded as "non-mainstream" in obstetrics and gynecology [1], especially at present, patients have flexible and independent choices when seeing a doctor. In obstetrics and gynecology, patients are rejected by men. Most female patients, especially male nurses, refused to ask male doctors about their medical history and physical examination. Therefore, male nursing students are in an awkward position in clinical practice. Many male nursing students think that men and women are different, and nursing women, especially those involving private parts, is even more embarrassing and instinctively produces some psychological conflicts. Moreover, there are few undergraduate nursing students, especially male nursing students, and there is more room for professional choice in the future. Most male nursing students will not engage in obstetrics and gynecology nursing after graduation, so they are not enthusiastic about learning obstetrics and gynecology nursing. 1.2 clinical teaching ...

Preliminary study on clinical nursing practice of obstetric undergraduates

In order to adapt to the change of medical model and cultivate comprehensive applied talents, from 1997, undergraduate students in obstetrics and gynecology have been doing nursing practice for 10 days at the same time, and a questionnaire survey has been conducted among students. The results show that 10 0% students think it is necessary, 94.5% students think it is serious and 90 .9% students think it is very rewarding.
