What Frankenstein and birthmark have in common.
The hero will devote his life to creating the story of invention. The similarity between Frankenstein and Birthmark lies in the story in which the protagonist devotes his whole life to creation and invention. Frankenstein is a character in mary shelley's novel Frankenstein and a mad scientist. Later used to refer to "stubborn people" or "humanoid monsters". Birthmark is one of Hawthorne's representative works, which tells a family tragedy caused by the protagonist's paranoia. Based on the American society that pursues scientific development in the19th century, this work adds the depiction of characters' inner world and moral religious enlightenment on the basis of dark, mysterious and irrational Gothic elements, which fully shows Hawthorne's psychological Gothic writing techniques.
