Reflections on Educational Punishment in Primary Education

Abstract: For primary education at this stage, the main purpose of taking educational punishment measures is to let students develop better and let primary school students grow up healthily. However, educational punishment needs moderate control. If education is punished excessively, it will seriously affect students' physical and mental development. Aiming at the problems existing in basic education, this paper will deeply analyze the relevant favorable measures to optimize educational punishment.

Key words: primary education; Educational punishment; tactics

As an educational method, educational punishment has been applied to school education. However, in recent years, with the rapid development of our society, people's ideas have also changed, making educational punishment gradually become a topic of great concern and controversy, and the scope of its negative impact is gradually expanding. Therefore, in the specific teaching period, teachers should reasonably use the means of educational punishment according to the actual situation, so that this means can give full play to its real significance.

1 Problems of Educational Punishment in Primary Education

1. 1 education punishment is difficult to carry out smoothly: at present, in primary education, many teachers think it is necessary to use education punishment if students have bad behavior during their study, but they have great concerns in the implementation process because they are afraid of not controlling the intensity of education punishment. At the same time, in the process of implementing quality education in an all-round way, teachers are required to take students as the main body and respect the rights of students in teaching, which makes teachers change their previous understanding of educational punishment, and they will think that this punishment is crucial and completely does not meet the requirements of quality education. Especially for primary school students, if teachers punish them, regardless of whether this behavior is reasonable or not, students and parents will protect their legitimate rights and interests through effective means, which not only makes educational punishment a sensitive word for schools and teachers, but also causes schools to be unable to reasonably protect teachers' rights and interests in front of students and parents, thus making it difficult to smoothly implement educational means in primary education. Over time, teachers began to avoid this sensitive issue and constantly praised and encouraged students, even if they existed in schools.

1.2 There are deviations in punishment behavior: there are certain deviations in the way teachers punish students in education, which are as follows: First, teachers dare not punish students. Because education punishment has become the focus of public opinion, many teachers will have some concerns when carrying out education punishment, which leads to fear of using this method in the actual teaching process. Educational punishment can correct students' bad behavior to some extent. If teachers do not play the real role of educational punishment, it will affect the educational effect of students to some extent. Second, teachers punish excessively. Excessive punishment mainly means that teachers do not control the intensity well during the punishment period, which not only hinders the healthy development of students' body and mind, but also has a great impact on students' future study and life.

1.3 lack of effective punishment skills: in primary education, educational punishment is very skillful, but in practical application, many teachers lack effective punishment skills when using educational punishment means, and they are very single when choosing punishment methods, which makes the punishment behavior extremely unfair and leads to students' rebellious psychology, thus affecting the relationship between teachers and students.

2 the optimization strategy of educational punishment

2. 1 teacher

(1) Establish a correct view of educational punishment: A correct view of educational punishment is of great significance to the implementation of effective educational punishment. Therefore, as a primary school teacher, we must deeply realize that reasonable punishment is to serve the purpose of education and to better enable students to achieve all-round development. We should not over-punish, and we should use the correct educational punishment methods. In the concrete practice process, teachers should also be based on emotion, integrate into students' hearts, communicate with students and listen to their voices. Under normal circumstances, the use of emotional education will be more effective than severe punishment, but also more deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

(2) Correctly understand the purpose of educational punishment: punishment is an educational method, which can only be used if there is no way, so punishment must be educational. The main purpose of educational punishment is to help students correct bad habits and make them develop better. In the process of punishment, teachers must do things right, not people. In addition, teachers should understand the students' personality characteristics when punishing, and the punishment methods they choose must be within the acceptable range of students. Teachers should realize that punishment is not to bring pain to students, but to make students realize their mistakes and correct them, so as to achieve the purpose of education. Because punishment is to better maintain teaching order, teachers should treat students fairly and give full play to the educational function contained in punishment as much as possible, not only educating students who have made mistakes, but also playing a preventive role among other students without violating school rules. At present, in the case of educational punishment in China, there are still many teachers who violate the educational principle of punishment. Most of them punish students to vent their dissatisfaction, and some teachers punish students to improve their academic performance, which will hinder the healthy development of students' body and mind to a certain extent. Even some teachers cannot treat students equally. Teachers can forgive students with good grades for making mistakes, and teachers will increase punishment for students with poor grades for making mistakes. These behaviors violate the real purpose of education punishment, and do not take students as the starting point of education, which will make students more disgusted with learning and even have resistance to teachers. Pupils are in the stage of personality formation and development. If teachers can't use correct teaching methods, it will seriously affect students' future development.

(3) Using appropriate punishment skills: Teachers can get twice the result with half the effort if they can use appropriate punishment skills when educating primary school students. Specifically, teachers should listen carefully to students' explanations before punishing them. Some students didn't make mistakes on purpose. If the teacher can give the students a chance to explain, it will prevent the students from having rebellious psychology because of unreasonable punishment. In addition, teachers can let students choose their own punishment methods and give them a certain choice, which can make students better understand and respect teachers. Teachers should punish students as soon as they violate school rules, otherwise it will be difficult to achieve the due effect of educational punishment and will not leave a deep educational impression on students.

2.2 School: In order to effectively optimize the educational punishment behavior in primary education, schools should do a good job in the following three aspects: First, formulate reasonable school rules and regulations in the primary school campus, so that teachers can follow rules and regulations to prevent unreasonable or excessive punishment. Second, the implementation of school rules should follow the principles of fairness, justice and respect. Thirdly, teachers are regularly trained in professional quality, and teachers are constantly educated in professional ethics and legal system to improve their ability to analyze and solve problems in the face of emergencies.

3 Conclusion

To sum up, in the current primary education, it is necessary to use reasonable educational punishment methods. Teachers and schools must treat education punishment correctly, constantly sum up experiences and lessons, and find the most suitable education punishment scheme. Only in this way can we fundamentally promote the healthy and happy growth of students.
