Buddhism is karma. Painting is painting, which is a great cause. Ink, paper and pen are all karma. Paper as white as dew, clean and spotless, seems to be a state of mind. The image created by pen and ink rises with fate, and the original heart can express everything. Vacuum is wonderful, and the body can't live without it.

Yang Gang, laity, Nanjing native, 1958. He studied in Chinese Department of Nanjing Normal University and worked in Jiangsu Branch of Writers Association. In the late 1980s, he became a teacher with Master Miao Zhan, and began to study Zen in the 1990s. Now he is a professional painter and freelance writer.

Yang Gang's figure paintings are dominated by monks, arhats and celebrities. Although they are careless, it is difficult to hide the truth of romantic feelings.
