Xiamen University was founded in 19265438 by Chen Jiageng, a patriotic overseas Chinese leader. It is the first university founded by overseas Chinese in the history of modern education in China, and one of the earliest universities in China to recruit graduate students, Xiamen University Malaysian Branch was established.
