Buddhism was introduced into China from the Han Dynasty to Li Shutong, and it developed very well after more than 1,800 years. In the history of China, there are not a few celebrities who love Buddhist culture, such as Su Dongpo, a great writer in the Northern Song Dynasty, and even Li Shizhen, Li Shutong's father, are all people who love Buddhist thought. When he was young, he was influenced by his father and had a good impression on Buddhism. Later, I came into contact with Buddhist teachings and was deeply attracted. I think it is meaningless to pursue fame and fortune in the world of mortals.
Extended data
Li Shutong is a famous musician, art educator, calligrapher and drama activist, and one of the pioneers of China drama. After he returned from studying in Japan, he worked as a teacher and editor. Later, he became a monk, and his legal name was Hongyi, and his legal name was Yixian. Later, he was honored as Master Hongyi.
After becoming a monk, Li Shutong devoted himself to studying Buddhist teachings, and almost traveled to cities in southeastern China to spread Buddhist scriptures. His works are also influenced by Buddhism, with lofty artistic conception, which is beyond the reach of ordinary people.
As a pioneer of modern art enlightenment education in China, Li Shutong's conversion to Buddhism can not be simply attributed to his escape from reality, but should also be discussed from his unique artistic personality. When artists pursue human nature in the artistic realm, they will find that the perfect expression of human nature will make their artistic creation full of utopian speculation and infinite impulse.
