1969 graduated from Peking University Library Department (now Information Management Department). I worked in Peking University Library from 197 1 to 1972. I have been teaching in the department since the spring of 1972. 1989 to 1990 studied at keio university in Japan for one year. He has served as teaching assistant, lecturer, deputy director of information science teaching and research section, director of information technology teaching and research section, associate professor, director and professor, and 1998 was elected as doctoral supervisor of information science. At present, he is the deputy director of the Information Management Department of Peking University (in charge of the teaching work of the whole department and planning the reform plan of professional education), a member of the Academic Committee of the Department of Social Sciences of Peking University, and a member of the title evaluation group of Peking University books and materials series. Social part-time jobs include: the third Council member of China Science and Technology Information Society, the fifth executive director, the chairman of the professional committee of information science theory, method and information education, the executive director of China Information Association, the executive director of China Information Economics Association, the head of the academic department of the National Science and Technology Communication Research Association, the editorial board of Modern Information Technology and Information Science, and part-time professors of Hebei University and Anhui University.

He has long been engaged in teaching and research in scientific and technological literature retrieval, information retrieval language, automatic indexing, computer information retrieval, information resource management, information policy and law. Published more than 50 papers and articles, and books 10. His main works are: scientific and technological literature retrieval (1985), index workbook (co-translated, 1988) and literature concepts and methods (co-translated, 19965438). There are 5 scientific research projects 15 at or above the provincial and ministerial level, of which 5 have been completed, 5 are being concluded and 5 are in progress. He has won many awards such as the second prize of excellent teaching materials of the State Education Commission. In 2007

On May 10- 12, Professor Lai and Ph.D. student Yan Hui went to Tongji University to attend the "Symposium on Library Architecture across the Taiwan Strait".

On May 3 1, Professor Lai attended the "2007 Beijing Audio-visual Electronic Animation Game Key Publishing Project and Beijing Publishing Project Demonstration Meeting" held by Beijing Press and Publication Bureau.

On June 4th 4- 10/0, Professor Lai was invited to Taiwan Province Province to attend the "Cross-Strait Symposium on Economy, Trade and Management" organized by Dahua Institute of Technology in Taiwan Province Province, and made a special speech entitled "Current Situation and Trends of Electronic Society Life in Mainland China". Other colleagues include Professor Dong Li and Dr. Alfred Yau from Guanghua School of Management. During this period, I visited Taiwan Province Provincial University, Taiwan Province Provincial Political University and Taiwan Jiaotong University, gave a special lecture at Taiwan Jiaotong University, and exchanged views with teachers and students of information management departments of these three universities.

On June 15, the 2007 National Philosophy and Social Science Fund project "An Empirical Study on the Integration and Coordination of Information Resources Industry and Related Industries" declared by Professor Lai was approved.

On the afternoon of June 2 1, the 5th China Software Fair "IT Governance and Excellent Operation and Maintenance" forum was successfully held in Dalian World Expo Center. Experts, scholars, chief information officers and media reporters from all over the country gathered together to discuss the deep-seated problems of the deep application of informatization in China. Professor Lai from the Information Management Department of Peking University delivered a speech entitled "IT Governance and Compliance".

In June, the 2007 graduate course "Modern Information Science" declared by Professor Lai and others was approved by the graduate school.

On July 8th, Professor Lai and Professor Lai attended the expert consultation meeting on the construction and development of China Thesaurus organized by China Institute of Science and Technology Information.

On July 9th, the soft science project of the National Informationization Expert Advisory Committee-theoretical research and policy suggestions that information resources are factors of production, intangible assets and social wealth, which was chaired by Professor Lai, an expert from the State Information Office, passed the project demonstration.
