Suqian College, founded in 2002, is a full-time provincial public institution of higher learning organized by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government. On May 20 14, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was formally established as a private college at the undergraduate level. In March 2020, the Ministry of Education sent a letter agreeing that Suqian College should be transformed into a provincial public university.
