Yancheng middle school, Jiangsu Province, founded in 1927, is the fourth national Sun Yat-sen University yancheng middle school. 1928 was renamed yancheng middle school, National Central University, and later yancheng middle school, Jiangsu Province. Later, due to War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and other reasons, the name and address of the school were changed many times. 1953, the school was renamed as "yancheng middle school, Jiangsu Province".

Yancheng middle school, Jiangsu Province is the first batch of key middle schools, the first batch of four-star high schools and the first batch of national demonstration ordinary high schools in Jiangsu Province, and is known as one of the "five golden flowers" of ordinary middle schools in Jiangsu Province.
