Introduction to "contentment"
What first interested me in the literature of small European countries was Zhou Shoujuan's series of European and American short stories, followed by the special issue of weak country and weak country literature of Novel Monthly, followed by Zhou Zuoren's translation series of modern novels. Most of the European novels translated by these journals are extremely short, but they strongly express the sadness in all aspects of life. These novels moved me more than those of any big country. In particular, there are some papers in the special issue of weak national literature, which introduce one of the literary conditions of small European countries and give me a preliminary understanding of the history of literature.
Later, I was able to find foreign periodicals, and found that several English magazines seemed to pay special attention to the literature introduction in this field, such as dial, Liv-in Gage, slavonicreview, poetlore and so on. So I am also interested in these magazines. However, due to the lack of financial resources, I failed to buy each issue, resulting in less reading and more leakage. What I see is often a quick glance at the library or a friend's borrowing books. Even if I leave for a day or two, I haven't translated much.
