However, the author believes that in the current practice of school moral education, there is still an important moral education factor that has been neglected, and that is the effective excavation of moral education materials.

Moral education materials are facts and materials used for moral education of students. Moral education materials are very important and directly affect the quality of moral education. Without specific moral education materials, the content of moral education will lose its carrier. Empty preaching is the taboo of moral education, which will inevitably lead to the abortion of moral education goals. It can be said that moral education materials are the foundation of moral education work and the cornerstone of moral education project, and moral education work begins with moral education materials.

Faced with all-encompassing and voluminous moral education materials, how should we explore them?

First of all, we should explore according to the needs of moral education theme. Once the theme of moral education is determined, the exploration of moral education materials will have a direction.

Exploring moral education materials is an educational activity in itself and should be included in the overall educational project of moral education theme. Students are the main body of education, and students can learn from many aspects by participating in excavation.
